We have technological and automated analytical processes that are directly aimed at disease surveillance and pandemic monitoring mission sets.

Surveillance

Surveillance is an essential foundation for monitoring and evaluating the spread of disease and is especially critical when disease agents appear in highly populated areas.

A common operating picture with data fusion and analysis capabilities is needed to understand the key features, triggers, and human network of a disease outbreak before it reaches pandemic level. While the challenges to effective surveillance are at times insurmountable, there are specific technological solutions that can assist policy-makers and front-line responders prepare, respond, and conduct post-event assessments.

Through its various products and with input from Subject Matter Experts, we technological and automated analytical processes that are directly aimed at disease surveillance and pandemic monitoring mission sets.

Our front-line solution is a smartphone application that provides the ability to submit multi-media reports in real-time or near real-time, regardless of connectivity or location in the world, allowing researchers and doctors to receive reports from remote areas in real time, increasing their ability to detect an outbreak. The goal is to ensure that actionable information is available at a moment’s notice, shortening the decision-making time-line and ultimately saving lives.

Our complete system provides a unique ability to show reports geospatially, temporally, and on a user-defined region map that can alert specific areas that have statistically higher incidents over other areas. This technology allows any type of data to be imported into the data repository where it can be analyzed, filtered, and displayed on world-wide available mapping. In an evolving pandemic or disease spread situation, basic data analysis such as comparing operational reports from different areas can be accomplished with minimal training, and allows decision makers to rank severity of need and better allocate resources.

Pandemic Response

We assist during the entire cycle of disease and pandemic response.

Preparation: Our solutions aid preparation by creating a rich repository of pre-collected and historical data that can be viewed, updated, monitored, analyzed, and assessed at any point during a disaster event. This repository improves response as information is shared with first-responders from multiple organizations. Risk is further mitigated with system capabilities that support a variety of governance, and improve the posture of all the links in the risk management chain. Preparation is improved by broad situational awareness, cost-effective mitigation policies, and sharable information across multiple databases.

Response Support: Our solutions integrate field reports with various data sources into a sharable geospatial view. The geospatial rendering of the integrated information is shared in real-time between stationary and mobile command centers and with field responders via readily acquired commercial mobile devices. The system is engineered to work with minimal bandwidth often found in remote locations, and is executed in mobile cellular clouds in severely damaged environments, with seamless migration to SATCOM and municipal infrastructure as it becomes available.

Post-Event: Field assessments also enhance the ability to perform the next round of preparation. Assessments highlight gaps in the incident response and point to shortfalls in need of improvement. Addressing these gaps can save lives in future incidents.

We also provide tools for research and academic observation of diseases, across zoonotic and human studies. This includes, but is not limited to, specimen/inventory management using mobile phones, rapid field identification of diseases/ailments, and data management processes that enhance preparedness and response. Our solutions create a rich repository of pre-collected and historical data that can be viewed, updated, monitored, analyzed, and assessed at any point during a mission. Situational awareness is increased through the system’s mining of all available data, which is then presented in a logical and concise manner.
